Objective

The training is designed to provide those attending with a good understating of how to use the test equipment, how to conduct the tests and how to evaluate the results of the tests.

We do not provide Fit2Fit accreditation and individuals must sit and pass the Fit2Fit Test and Practical Assessment to achieve the accreditation. Fit2Fit recommend that before accreditation is sought testers gain sufficient knowledge and experience by conducting the tests before attempting the Assessment. Our training will provide you with a broard knowledge of the different types of tight-fitting RPE as well as methods of solving problems assosciated with testing.

Course Contents ​​​: Modules

1. Selection of adequate and suitable RPE

2. Examination of RPE and the ability to identify poorly maintained facepieces;

3. Ability to correctly fit a facepiece and perform pre-use wearer-seal checks;

4. Ability to recognise a poorly fitting facepiece;

5. Awareness of external factors that may affect the fit of the facepiece or the fit test result;

6. The purpose and applicability of fit testing;

7. The differences between, and the appropriate use of, QNFT and QLFT methods;

8. The purpose of the fit test exercises

9. Preparation of facepieces for fit testing;

10. How to carry out diagnostic checks on the facepiece and the fit test equipment;

11. Capabilities and limitations of the fit test equipment;

12. How to perform a correct fit test with the chosen method;

13. Awareness and knowledge of how to prevent and correct problems during fit testing;

14. Interpretation of fit test results;

15. An understanding of the differences between fit factor, workplace protection Factor (WPF),  assigned protection factor and nominal protection factor(NPF)!;

16. HSE ACOPs and guidance that deal with fit testing of RPE.

Assessment

This course helps prepare for attaining Fit2Fit accreditation, but does not provide it.  By passing this course, attendees will show they have the reasonable knowledge and practical abilities to start face fit testing.  However, only by then gaining experience and then passing the Fit2Fit accreditation exam will anyone be able to prove their competency.

Certification

We provide Certificate of Attendance subject to them demonstrating that they have understood the course content and have a reasonable knowledge in the use of the test method equipment. This is the common practice throughout the sector.

Attendance Requirements

The course fees do not include a face fit test kit or masks. 

You will need to have your own kit for use following the course.
